New yam Festival: Eze Nwachukwu to host Igbo in Lagos, Saturday
2017, at the Igbo Community Centre, Nwachukwu Drive, Okota Lagos.
Eze Nwachukwu, who stated this in his palace at Okota said, the occasion would be used to circulate information to Igbo in the state as prominent sons and daughters of Igbo extraction and friends of Ndigbo would grace the occasion. “We are expecting Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu and other Obas. We also want to use the occasion to express appreciation to the sons and daughters of Ndigbo in Lagos who have distinguished themselves because the year is about to end. “We also want to thank the host community for being patient and there for us in the state, and tolerating all of us in Lagos.”
He said it is a thing of pleasure for Ndigbo living outside Igbo land to celebrate the new yam festival, reiterating that the occasion is to celebrate the first yam which is the first fruit.
