In what seems to be a roundabout turn from his initial disposition to the women’s march on Washington, President Donald Trump has said that he recognised the rights of people to express their views, even if hedidn’t always agree with the point view.
He had tweeted, “Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views.
This is a radical departure from a sneering posture he maintained in an earlier tweet: “Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn’t these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly.”
