Akwa Ibom Police Parade Crime Suspects

Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Friday paraded a 50-year-old man allegedly for defiling a two-year-old girl on Friday. The Police Public Relations Officer, Cordelia Nwanwe, who paraded the suspect to reporters, said that due medical examination
had been carried out and the suspect would soon be arraigned in court.

The suspect, who gave his name as Okon Michael, said that he was married with children. Michael who spoke Ibibio language, blamed the devil for his action.

Other suspected criminals paraded by the Police included two ladies aged 18 and 25.

A 15-year-old girl and her alleged cultist-boyfriend were arrested for being in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and for being in possession of a pistol.

The PPRO charged parents and guardians to warn their wards from keeping late nights and evil company.

She also advised transporters to screen packages before carrying them to avoid being used to convey arms and other harmful materials.

Mrs Nwanwe also assured the public of the Command’s commitment to the security of lives and property.

According to her, the recent arrests were results of effective intelligence gathering by the state police command.
